Hello everyone, I'm back from my Pulau Redang! It so fun, fun, fun! OK, now i am going to share my 4 days in Malaysia.
Day 1(Monday, night):
I was feeling nervous and excited for my trip as it was the second time going overseas without my family. There were 22 student and 4 adults(2 lecturer and 2 diving instructor from Singapore) going for the trip.We set off by bus from a local shopping center at 10pm. The journey took us 10 over hours. Sad to say that I did not enjoy the ride. The seat was very uncomfortable and small and the air- conditional was very cold. My friends and I could hardly sleep.
Day 2(Tuesday, morning):
We arrived at a jetty to take a speed boat to Pulau Redang. I had a history of seasick so when I board the speed boat, I was very afraid. I don't even dare to look outside the window of the boat. However, thank god it is a smooth ride. We arrived at our destination at around 10am.
The resort we were staying was located near the beach. The view was beautiful. The sea water was clear and blue. It is so clear until you could actually see the coral just 1 meter below the sea with your naked eyes.
We checked in after a briefing by a resort management people. I shared the room with 3 of my other friends. The room was very clear ad the best of all is that we could see the sea from our room window. After we have settled down, we changed into our swimsuit and went for our lunch. The lunch was delicious. It taste just like my mom's cooking. the fruits was very sweet and fresh.
After our lunch, that's the time when the real adventure begins. We were divided into two groups; one will do snorkeling first and diving the next day, the other group will do the opposite. My friends and i were the lucky ones to do the diving first. We got our gear( a pair of flippers, mask, oxygen tank and weights) and set off to another nearby island. Before we start the actual diving, we were taught of some basic sign language and skills that we have to use underwater. As the current was quite strong, we have trouble standing at the position.
After some time, we were all ready to dive into the deep blue sea... the life under the sea was really like the ones in the movie"finding Nemo". It was so colourful and beautiful. we got to play with the clown fish and see fishes swimming everywhere. The clown fish bite my hair. I manage to see what a live sea cumber was. It was soft and look like doggy poo.When u squeeze it, water will "fly out". Very funny. The flippers that i was wearing make it hard for me to swim, therefore most of the time i was touching the sea bed and trying to balance myself. After a couple of hours, we went back to the resort on a boat. All of us were having fun and tired.
We slept early that night, after dinner, at 8pm.
Day3(Wednesday):
That day, we woke up at 7pm to get ready for another day of wonders and fun! The breakfast was simple but delicious. We got ready our equipment and set off to the marine park by a big boat. When we reach there, we could see many fishes swimming towards the humans during feeding time. All the fishes were very colourful and huge.
We were given beard to feed the fishes and while feeding them, i managed to touch the fishes. The scale was very smooth and beautiful. The ray of the sun shines into the sea bed and it was really very nice.
After that, we went back to our resort and have our lunch. usually i eat very little at home, but over there the food was really very nice and fresh. We went another round of snorkeling again to another island after lunch.
The other was as beautiful as the rest, the fishes found there was unique and some are weird looking. My friends and I went exploring the sea with a local diving instructor and he had shown us many many nice sea creature. We had lots of fun and laughter. Before we knew it, we were drifting far away from the boat. Our lecturer was worried around us as we were not where to be seen by her. Just then, she heard our laughter and saw the four of us, with the diving instructor swimming slowly towards her. When we reach the boat, she said that the four of us were bullying the instructor(which is, of course, not true...). We went back to our resort to wash up.
After that, my group leader suggested that we play a game of tug-of-war. After 3 rounds, my team won. But by then all of us had body aches everywhere. I hardly have the strength to eat my dinner. Dinner that night was great. We were having bbq.
I didn't eat much during the dinner and at around 9pm, I got hungry and went to grab some toast. Just then, someone came to us and said that there is a turtle coming on shore to lay eggs. We quickly rush to take a look. I heard from a local that it was a rare sight to see the turtle come on shore to lay eggs. And he said that there was a turtle who came to the very same spot to lay her eggs, 3 years ago. He also said that we were very lucky to see this rare, yet amazing sight. As we all know, turtle are very slow animals. It took her 3 hours to finally dig a hole that is deep enough for her to lay her eggs. At that time, it was already 12+am. We were mostly tired. When she started laying her first egg, many of us took photos of the process. The eggs were huge and look like ping pong balls. After that, she put back all the sands with her 4 strong flippers. The flippers was so strong until the sand flew and can reach our face. She did a little sand bathing before returning to the sea. We manage to took some pictures with her before she left.
At about 2am, we went back to our room to sleep...
Day 3(Thursday and finally day of our Pulau Redang Trip)
We woke up at 7am to wash up and pack up our stuff. We had our breakfast and went to thank our host for their great hospitality. We set off and after 12 hours, we were back in Singapore, back to our loved ones, back to my nice, comfortable bed. I really enjoyed those 4 days and hope that i could really go back there again some day.
